I was born and raised in Anchorage, AK and have lived here my entire life, except for a year in high school when I lived in Juneau and a year in college when I lived in Fairbanks. I grew up in a blended family in which my parents were divorced and had remarried. I, myself, have had a divorce and remarried. I was an anxious kid and continue to have my own struggles with anxiety as an adult. Even. As. A. Therapist. I have an amazing husband who makes me laugh every single day and together we parent our beautiful daughter and 3 fur babies. I love gardening, and while not the most exciting activity around, I get some of the best therapy for myself with a little dirt under my nails. In my free time I’m usually reorganizing rooms in my house, researching and reading the latest therapy books, trying out new recipes, planning my next adventure, or exploring my creative/expressive side. While I'm not the extreme outdoor enthusiast that many Alaskans are, I do love to be outside in the yard, biking on the trails with my family, camping, and going on leisurely hikes. I’m always working toward having balance in my own life, which means that there are times that I feel like I’ve really nailed being an adult and then there are times when I struggle to practice what I preach. I certainly don’t have everything figured out, but I’m able to see the beauty in imperfection and find that people are more interesting and relatable when things are a little bit messy. If you think that I might be a good fit for you or your family, please don’t hesitate to connect with me!

My approach...
My mission as a therapist is to provide a safe space for you to come and unpack some of the things that are preventing you or your family from having a more fulfilled life. Whatever that means to you!
While my specialty tends to be working with youth, parents, and families, I enjoy working with people of all ages and walks of life. I would consider myself an attachment-focused and trauma-informed therapist and I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques to help support those I work with achieve more balance in their lives. It takes a lot of guts to see a therapist and share your story and I feel honored and privileged to hold space with my clients and help them work through their unique challenges. Maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship rooted in professionalism and playfulness will be my responsibility while we work together to accomplish the goals you want to set. I’m going to show up to our sessions with a genuine concern for how you’re doing, a professional curiosity to get to know what’s important to you and how I can help you move closer toward those things, and an eagerness to help you understand yourself and your life circumstances a little better. I’m also going to show up with humor, relatable examples, and the occasional bad word (when it’s appropriate!) My hope is that through showing you my authentic self you are able to feel relaxed and secure being uniquely you in our sessions, which will make our time together more meaningful and effective.
